Caroline Hervey-Bathurst studied at the St. Martins School of Art with Jehan Daly, at the Sir John Cass School with R. Vivian Pitchforth R.A., and at the Chelsea Physic Garden. From Jehan Daly, in particular, she developed her individual and intensely painterly style and the delicacy and refinement of her technique which distinguishes all her work, together with her very personal response.
She works in oils, pastel, watercolour, pencil and ink. While she has shewn at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, at the Royal Academy, at three solo exhibitions at the Piers Feetham Gallery in London, at other London galleries and at the Ursus Gallery in New York, much of her work has been commissions. In addition to private collections her work is in the archive of the Chelsea Physic Garden, and in the British Museum (a portrait of a former Keeper of Prints and Drawings).
Her range embraces portraits, family groups, horses and dogs, interiors, houses, landscapes, still lives, flowers and botanical, and Christmas and other cards and vignettes, many of which are sold for the benefit of the local Parish Church and for Winchester Cathedral.
This website is organised with five pages of small images of representative Portrait paintings, Flower & Botanical paintings, Still Lives, Landscapes, and Cards & Vignettes. Clicking on any of the thumbnails in the galleries will display an enlarged image.
Contact numbers and addresses are displayed in the footer of every page, and all enquires as to commissions or purchases and prices should be addressed direct to the artist. An online contact form is also available on the contact details page.
